  • The CIO Leaders’ Luncheon on ‘The New Scope of Mission Critical Computing’ was held in conjunction with Unisys. Deane Johns of the NZ Association of Credit Unions and Murray Mitchell of the NZ Fire Service were the featured CIO speakers, respectively, in Auckland and Wellington. Steve Thompson of Unisys spoke in both events.

  • Deane Johns talked about leading a team that delivers shared services plus model to the member organisations who comprise one of the major financial groups in New Zealand. The NZACU IT team provides the full spectrum of back-office infrastructure systems as well as products and services on-sold by the NZACU’s members such as Eftpos and debit cards, and text banking. His experiences – and lessons learned – on how networked organisations are managing essentially 24x7 businesses, amidst rising customer demands and expectations, and growing digitisation, are applicable across sectors and regions.

  • Drawing on cross-sector experience, Steve Thompson of Unisys demonstrated how organisations can ensure their infrastructure, operations and people meet new and constantly shifting requirements in this increasingly competitive and digital business environment.
