Riverstone is a greenfield estate in north-west Sydney with 8,500 premises. It is part of the North-West Sydney Growth Centre areas identified in 2008 by the NSW State Government, and was identified as early as June 2009 as a potential rollout location for the NBN.
Sydney is Australia’s first and most populous city, sprawling from the Pacific Ocean to the Blue Mountains, and from the NSW central coast to Wollongong to the south.
Riverstone is one of 14 second release sites planned for the mainland. Announced on 8 July 2010 by NBN Co, construction is set to begin in the second quarter of 2011 for 3,000 premises.
