SNAPGEAR ANNOUNCES NEW EMBEDDED LINUX PLATFORMS FOR INTEL NETWORK PROCESSORS

New offering combines embedded Linux security and high-performance network processors for Internet-ready embedded appliance applications
SAN FRANCISCO - LinuxWorld Conference & Expo - Aug. 5, 2003 -SnapGear Inc., a leader in embedded Linux security, today announced new embedded Linux platforms using network processors based on Intel® XScale™ technology. The platforms are immediately available from Intel or SnapGear with a variety of development platform and product formats.
Intel will ship SnapGear's embedded Linux distribution with development boards for the Intel IXP4XX network processor product line. SnapGear offers a development environment for OEM customers using Intel network processor configurations for VPN firewall appliances. SnapGear acts as an ODM (Original Device Manufacturer) for some of the world's leading communications companies, offering turnkey product solutions for secure Web communications. Developers can download the SnapGear embedded Linux distribution, including the proven uClinux microkernel distribution, free of charge at www.snapgear.org.
