Dynamic Principle Security Consultant / Practice Partner with exp delivering Managed Security services to enterprise level customers. North Ryde team


This Global IT & Managed Security services provider in the North Ryde area, requires the expertise of an experienced Principle Security Consultant / Security Practice Manager with a track record of delivering security professional and managed services within an enterprise environment.

Working with a variety of people including sales, account teams and other senior managers and directors, the senior security consultant will work to identify and develop business growth whilst also instilling confidence and trust in clients. Responsibilities include support of business development and pre-sales activities, delivery of consultancy engagements, communication to senior leadership and mentoring to other employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and participate as a specialist on structured and bespoke security consulting engagements
  • Maintain familiarization with security proprietary consulting methodologies, for the purpose of both presentation and delivery to customers
  • Provide leadership in the support of business development activities in the form of scoping, estimating and/or writing business proposals
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of consulting frameworks and methodologies
  • Participate in client workshops, presentations, RFI/T/P's, and bid teams
  • Serve as a mentor to other security staff
  • Provide input to and help facilitate Security business objectives
  • Maintain personal familiarity with current security industry news and trends

Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum 7-10 years professional experience in IT, with at least 5 years' experience in an Information Security, Risk Management, Audit or equivalent discipline
  • Beneficial to have prior experience and an understand of managing consulting or professional services businesses, including but not limited to people and P&L
  • Bachelors or Master's Degree
  • Industry certification such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, PCI-P, SABSA, ISO27000 Lead Auditor
  • Expert knowledge of Information Security principles and practices
  • Advanced project, analysis, problem-solving, and business relationship skills
  • Working knowledge of security standards such as ISO27000, PCI-DSS, Australian Privacy Principles
  • Good understanding of current legislation and precedence governing IT
  • Good understanding of IT Security technologies touching data, physical, business process, system integration, e-commerce
  • Expert knowledge in the areas of IS Governance, Risk Management or Technical Security Services
  • Excellent interpersonal and consultative skills
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects and manage the timely completion of projects
  • Solid presentation, writing and communications skills
  • Ability to work in challenging business environments
