A rare opportunity has arisen for an experienced Director, Project Delivery (IT) to lead a team of senior technology programme and project management experts and so deliver a significant and progressive business/technology change programme.

The Department of Corrections is embarking on a move to cloud based services and new digital ways of working. Our executive leaders want to be excited about how technology can transform our business! Reporting directly to the CIO, you will be a key part of the organisations IT Leadership team and will directly contribute to our vision and strategy of providing a multi-channel hybrid cloud ecosystem that will provide the next level of agility to respond to business demands.

We expect the successful candidate will be a strategic, forward thinker with extensive portfolio and programme management experience within large complex IT environments (large government experience would be advantageous).

As Director Project Delivery, you will have the overall responsibility for technology project delivery. A background of successful people management and strong leadership is must, enabling you to provide direction, development and coaching expertise to your team. You will lead a culture of collaboration and cross functional integration.

You will be familiar with executive level governance frameworks, ensure efficient prioritisation and effective delivery of IT programmes and projects. You will make recommendations to the CIO on selection and rationale for projects and service providers as well as any specific procurement requirements. Most importantly you will enjoy providing solutions to complex and challenging business problems.

You will be well versed with portfolio and programme management disciplines ( PMI, Prince), have a strong working knowledge of Waterfall development methodologies and experience with agile work practices. You will have sound hands-on financial management skills that will support the Departments IT capital planning function. Strong communication skills and the ability to engage at all levels of our business is mandatory.
