Hamilton-based fibre company Ultrafast Fibre, has taken out the Deloitte Fast 50 Regional Award for Fastest Growing Technology Business in the Central North Island.
As reported by Computerworld New Zealand the growing tech firm was among the regional category winners announced last week at events held around the country.
Speaking following a Deloitte Fast 50 event in Hamilton, Ultrafast Fibre CEO William Hamilton says the recognition is “an enormous privilege” for his team.
“This award is even more motivation for us to grow stronger,” he says. “Ultrafast Fibre is a young, local business on a mission.
“We are close to completing the build of our fibre network across the Central North Island, which is tracking ahead of schedule.”
Across New Zealand, Hamilton says there is increasingly high demand for ultra-fast broadband from consumers across the residential, business, health and education sectors.
“In August last year, Ultrafast Fibre took in 800 orders,” he adds. “In August this year, we took in 4,800 - a six-fold increase.
“We are now focusing even more on our customers, to enhance their experience as they connect and innovate by leveraging all the benefits that ultra-fast broadband brings.”
At the Deloitte event, Hamilton thanked the selection panel on behalf of Ultrafast Fibre and its shareholders, Crown Fibre Holdings and WEL Networks.
“We have a focussed team of people who will make this region proud,” he adds.
Ultrafast Fibre will now go forward to the national Deloitte Fast 50 index with the national category winners set to be unveiled as part of the Deloitte Festival of Fast Growth, to be held in Auckland on November 4.
