U-bix Document Solutions and Cogent Communications have merged and relaunched as OneSource to offer integrated products and support services for running an office.
The combined business has around 30,000 customers, 500 staff (including several hundred service engineers) and a turnover of $100 million says CEO Elaine Ford.
Ford claims that OneSource is the first company to offer all the technology needed for the day-to-day running of an office from one source. “Whereas technology in the office has converged, the suppliers of that technology have not.”
To expand U-bix Document Solutions’ document management and photocopier offferings and Cogent’s telecommunications solutions (phone systems, voice and data integrating, call centres, messaging and video conferencing), OneSource is looking to acquire businesses that are strong in desktop and networking integration. Ford has been in negotiations with one company and is close to making a deal, she says. “We’re looking at incremental growth through recruitment and training and we are also looking at acquisitions to provide a full range of desktop PCs and related software.”
Ford says OneSource can also leverage the fact that it is part of a group of companies specialising in finance and leasing, in developing ownership and leasing options for office technology.
OneSource is owned by Hanover Group which also has Elders Finance, Nationwide Finance, Leasing Solutions, Elders Home Loans and Hanover Securities.
