Wilson White taken over by Aussie rival

Auckland-based IT recruitment specialist Wilson White has been taken over by an Australian rival.

Its new owner, Interim Technology, is a global IT training and recruitment organisation, with annual revenues of more than $A300million across Australia, New Zealand, Asia and the UK.

Wilson White, which also has a Wellington office, claims to be one of the largest providers of IT recruitment and contracting in the country. Formed in 1980, it had a $5.3 million turnover last year.

Co-founder Doug White says he is "very excited" by the move, which also makes his company part of the $US4 billion Interim Group.

"Our ability to source Interim Technology’s Training Institute for candidate placements throughout New Zealand will no doubt provide an edge for us given today’s market conditions," he says.

“With more than 40 locations in major centres throughout Asia Pacific, Interim Technology can now provide a full-range of IT services to clients locally and worldwide."

Wilson White will also leverage the thousands of IT professionals graduating from Interim Technology Training Institutes throughout Asia Pacific and the UK. The institutes provide certified vocational training for individuals seeking IT industry qualification and cross-training for existing technology professionals.

Interim Technology president and managing director Peter James says the takeover will provide "strong synergy between the two organisations".

"The announcement closely follows the recent opening of our Interim Technology Training Institute in Christchurch which, together with our existing Auckland and Wellington facilities, clearly demonstrates our commitment to the New Zealand marketplace,” he says.

James adds that both local and global clients of Wilson White and Interim Technology in New Zealand will benefit from the combined strengths of the two companies with Interim Technology’s Internet and client service strategies implemented through Wilson White in New Zealand.
