Dear What Am I Worth,
I am a solution design engineer for a large corporate company based in Auckland. The role is pre-sales support, designing LAN/WAN Internet works for corporate customers.
The design aspect involves consulting with customers about current and ongoing applications, business drivers, networking trends, IP addressing schemes, protocols to be supported, bandwidth and CPE requirements. The design will incorporate a variety of platforms and services such as ATM, Frame Relay, X25, ISDN, ADSL, VPN and Internet access.
To support the implementation process, I write a project pack containing technical specifications, solution diagrams and related project documents or provide technical recommendations.
I have recently completed the Cisco Certified Design Professional and Cisco Certified Network Professional exams. I have also completed the NZCE in Telecommunications.
I have been in this role for five years, and have been in telecommunications for 15 years.
