Xtra email should be flowing this morning

Telecom hopes to have cleared its backlog of email by this morning and says all email sent from Tuesday afternoon onward should be delivered immediately.
Telecom has been experiencing delays of over a day with delivery of email to and from its ISP Xtra and spokeswoman Katrina King puts that down to the sudden rise in email traffic through the country's largest ISP.
"In the past three months we've seen traffic volumes double."
King says more than half of all traffic through Xtra's servers is spam or virus related.
She says Xtra staff have installed new email servers to help lessen the burden and that Xtra is also looking at making refinements to its anti-spam and anti-virus filtering system to speed up the flow of email.
Associate Minister of Communications David Cunliffe hopes to have a discussion document on anti-spam legislation available by the middle of the year and wants to introduce an anti-spam act to parliament before the year's end.
