Google Apps adds analytics

Administrators given more control

Google has released an update that will allow Google Apps users to link an Analytics account with their Apps account. This will allow administrators to access usage data statistics for the Docs and Sites applications.

The move comes as Google prepares its own web-based office apps to compete with Microsoft's forthcoming online version of Office.

Google recently made available three new test features for Apps Moderator, Code Review and Short Links which, together with the new Analytics implementation, could help administrators in tracing which of their internal sites or documents are most popular with users.
