Computer Associates International Inc. (CA) announced Monday it has released the newest version of its Unicenter TNG eBusiness management software product.
Version 2.4 of Unicenter TNG, which became available on Friday, is aimed at companies in business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) markets and offers advanced management functions, said Jack Kudalle, business manager for the Unicenter product line.
Unicenter TNG 2.4 "features comprehensive Linux platform support and unlike the others (competing products), works with (Microsoft Corp.'s) Windows 2000 today," Kudalle said. Furthermore, Unicenter TNG 2.4 has greater support for SANs (storage area network), Kudalle said.
As with its older Unicenter TNG version, version 2.4 uses an interface that shows managers the system's operation over time and uses a control panel that enables review of previous performance and likely future performance, according to Kudalle.
Pricing will be based on CA's new business licences model, Kudalle said. CA clients are allowed to determine the length and dollar value of their software license with discounts determined by both seller and user.
