Microsoft rides Whitehorse

SAN FRANCISCO (10/31/2003) - Microsoft Corp. will feature a set of design tools called "Whitehorse" in the Whidbey version of its Visual Studio tool, due in 2004. Whitehorse will facilitate the building of services-oriented systems and will enable visualization of relationships among services, uniting network operators and developers, said Rick LaPlante, general manager of Microsoft's developer division, at Microsoft's Professional Developers Conference this week.
