Greater Wellington Regional Council (GWRC) is planning to implement a new enterprise resource planning system from Netherlands based company Unit4. The software has been in use at New Zealand Post since 2016.
Implementation of Unit4’s cloud based Business World is scheduled to start later this year and will be undertaken by government software supplier Accela and Unit4 partner Agilyx.
According to Unit4 the new system will transform the council’s finance, HR and payroll systems, streamline processes and improve the functioning of council agencies.
Australia based Agilyx describes itself as a technology services company “dedicated to delivering high quality Unit4 Business World implementations and services to commercial, public sector and not-for-profit organisations.”
Unit4 says Business World is designed for people centric industries, including higher education, professional services, public services, and not-for-profit. “It is a public cloud SaaS solution that primarily runs on the Microsoft Azure platform with regional deployments, meeting many organisations' requirements for system/data location.”
Earlier this year it was included as a visionary in Gartner’s “Magic Quadrant for Cloud Core Financial Management Suites for Midsize, Large and Global Enterprises.”
Unit4 entered the local market in 2013 opening an office in Sydney and appointing Peter Simons as director for ANZ. The company previously operated locally through distributors. Earlier this year it named Chris Tithof as its first country manager and sales director for ANZ.
