Auckland based network monitoring technology provider, Endace, has formed a partnership with US based network visibility and traffic monitoring technology vendor Gigamon that it says will dramatically improve visibility into network traffic for SecOps, NetOps and DevOps teams.
Endace’s EndaceProbe analytics platform will be combined with Gigamon’s GigaSECURE security delivery platform. Endace says this will “give analysts the complete packet-level visibility they need to quickly and conclusively investigate and respond to security threats and remediate network and application performance issues.”
Endace says combination of the two will enable IT staff to accurately record every packet on all segments of their network and decrypt encrypted traffic before it is delivered to hosted analytics applications and recorded by EndaceProbes.
The GigaSECURE platform, is billed as a next generation network packet broker that gives customers control over how they direct traffic to their security and performance monitoring applications whilst providing filtering, load-balancing and decryption of encrypted traffic.
EndaceProbes, Endace says, “accurately record network traffic at full line rate and provide high-performance hosting for network security and performance analytics solutions in Application Dock, EndaceProbe’s built-in hosting VM hosting environment.”
Gigamon senior director of partner marketing and development Phil Griston said combination of the two products would give customers total control over, and visibility into, the traffic on their networks.
“They can direct traffic with absolute precision to the EndaceProbe platforms on their network for analysis and recording. And control traffic flows to the security and performance analytics solutions they have deployed – both hosted on their EndaceProbes and standalone.”
Before Gigamon, a partnership with Ixia
Endace’s partnership with Gigamon follows one announced last month with Keysight Technologies’ subsidiary, Ixia, to develop joint offerings that Endace said would provide greater visibility into network activity, even inside encrypted traffic.
Under their agreement, Ixia’s Vision portfolio of network packet brokers provide control over how packets are managed and where they are delivered, complementing EndaceProbes, and Ixia’s SSL decryption capabilities are being combined with Endace’s packet capture and recording to give security teams “a definitive source of evidence for investigating cyber threats and performance issues.”
Both partnerships follow release in July 2017 of EndaceFabric that connects multiple EndaceProbe packet capture appliances into a recording fabric that can be centrally managed.
