Former Bristol Myers CIO elected to Arcavista board

FRAMINGHAM (10/07/2003) - Jack M. Cooper, the former CIO of Bristol Myers Squibb Co., was appointed to the board of directors of software developer Arcavista Corp. Currently, Cooper also serves as president of JM Cooper and Associates, consulting on pharmaceutical supply chain management.

Prior to joining Bristol Myers Squibb, Cooper was CIO of The Seagram Company Ltd. and was president and CEO of CSX Technology, a division of CSX Corp. He began his career as an engineer with General Electric and served for a number of years as vice president of information services and director of computer imaging for the University of South Carolina. He is a member of the board of directors of Lourdes Healthcare and on the board of overseers of the Florida Institute of Technology.

Cooper holds a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from New Mexico State University, a master of science degree in applied mathematics and computer science from Washington University in St. Louis, Mo., and has completed the course work for a PhD in business administration at the University of South Carolina.
