Samsung New Zealand has become the official consumer electronics partner for Eden Park stadium under a five-year agreement and will, initially, provide more than 100 screens of LED signage in the East and West stands.
Further initiatives are in the pipeline. A joint statement said: “Samsung is also working with Eden Park to upgrade a range of its existing technologies as an important first step before venturing into other opportunities, setting Eden Park apart from other local and international stadiums.”
Eden Park said the Samsung screens would be installed throughout the concourse, in the stands and in corporate areas, and would be used during sports matches “to further enhance the spectator experience.”
Also, as part of the partnership deal, Eden Park is providing Samsung with a demo space in the North Lounge that will offer “an immersive experience with Samsung’s latest technology.”
Samsung has participated in a number high tech stadium upgrades around the world. In the US it recently participated in a major renovation of Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium and says it was a key partner providing “extensive technology integrations … designed to elevate the experiences of both fans and staff through the convenience of mobile payment technologies and digital signage, as well as high-speed, multifunction printing for coaches and administrators.”
