CallPlus is expanding its presence in the South Island, with telco and technology stalwart Rob Haywood joining its Christchurch team.
“Rob brings a wealth of expertise to the role, with more than 20 years in the telco industry, and is a fantastic addition to the team,” says Kelvin Hussey, General Manager, CallPlus.
“He knows our industry inside out and, more importantly, as a local to the area, understands the unique needs of companies who choose to base their business in this part of the country.

Hussey says CallPlus is focusing on providing additional support to its growing base of business customers and partners from Nelson to Invercargill, which include financial institutions, property companies, health services and educational facilities.

Over the last few years Hussey says the company has “invested millions of dollars” to install the infrastructure required to deliver a wide range of innovative solutions throughout the country.
CallPlus was one of the first carriers in New Zealand to provide VoIP services and in 2007, to deploy SIP trunks, which carry voice and data over a single fibre connection.
The company has continued to extend the reach and capability of its network, unbundling over 200 exchanges from Kerikeri to Invercargill, making it one of the largest providers of LLU (Local Loop Unbundled) services in the country.
Furthermore, it has also added Managed WAN and Cloud services and the latest broadband access methods of UFB and VSDL to its portfolio.

CallPlus recently hosted an event in Wanaka to launch the roll out of UFB in the area and will be heading to Christchurch next month to host a similar event.
