IBM, SAP profit in Q3; Siebel in red

FRAMINGHAM (10/17/2003) - Among vendors announcing third-quarter financial results, San Mateo, Calif.-based Siebel Systems Inc. reported a US$59.3 million loss on revenue of $321.4 million. IBM Corp. said it had a $1.8 billion profit on $21.5 billion in revenue. IT spending "remains good, but not robust," said John Joyce, IBM's chief financial officer. SAP AG reported a $294 million profit on revenue of $1.93 billion and raised its earnings forecast for the year as a whole.
