Netscape Q1 revenue up 35%

Netscape Communications has reported first quarter earnings of US$4.7 million on revenues of US$55 million, up 35% increase from the previous quarter's revenues of US$40.6 million.

During the first quarter, which ended on March 31, the company introduced two new versions of its popular browser, Netscape Navigator 2.0 and Netscape Navigator Gold 2.0, plus an integrated suite of server software called Netscape SuiteSpot for use with intranets.

In March, the company also hosted the first Netscape Internet Developer Conference.
