A computer technician from the University of Birmingham in England is being sued for copyright infringement by Du Pont for operating a web site called "Gay Lovers In Lycra."

Du Pont -- owners of the Lycra clothing brand -- is concerned that the site includes pictures of competitors' products and advertises lists of retail outlets that carry competing brands, according to sources.

"The Gay Lovers in Lycra" site was hosted on the mathematics department undergraduate server, but was closed following inquiries from Du Pont. The site was not authorised by the university and the technician, who was not identified, has been suspended pending an investigation, according to University of Birmingham officials.
