Vendors show off digital printing

Graphics companies are using Apple Expo in Paris to demonstrate printing that uses no film or printing plates.

To demonstrate the possibilities of digital printing, Apple, Adobe and Indigo have created an interactive kiosk called Instant Impressions, and are displaying the kiosk at Apple Expo Paris which opened yesterday.

At the kiosk, which will be displayed at other Apple Expo trade shows in Europe this year, show attendees are invited to design and print business stationery, free of charge. The kiosk includes Apple workstations running Adobe's Photoshop and Illustrator graphics applications. The computers are connected to Indigo's E-Print 1000 digital printers, which are four-colour process printers that use no film or printing plates.
