IBM releases OpenDoc beta version

IBM has released a new beta version of OpenDoc designed to improve portability of OpenDoc applications from OS/2 Warp.

IBM has released a new beta version of OpenDoc designed to improve portability of OpenDoc applications from OS/2 Warp to Microsoft's Windows NT and Windows 95 and Apple's MacOS.

The beta has full support for Microsoft's Visual C++ and ActiveX technologies. IBM has also released its OpenDoc Multimedia PartPak, which helps users integrate various forms of multimedia content from the Web into desktop-based applications, along with OpenDoc StarterPak, which offers users common text processing, drawing and content-formatting capabilities that can be dropped into an application.
