ISDN modem dealer throws in Telecom's installation fee

An Auckland firm's bundled ISDN modem deal dispenses with Telecom's $400 installation fee.

Availability of ISDN isn't always what it might be, but an Auckland company has struck a deal with Telecom which removes one of the blocks to its uptake--the $400 plus GST installation fee.

Customers who buy a Motorola BitSurfr Pro ISDN modem or a Vanguard ISDN router from Megadyne Communications will have their Telecom line install fee waived. Megadyne, the first local modem distributor to bundle Internet connections with its products, suggested the ISDN deal to Telecom after working together on ISDN business presentations and similar modem bundling deals with Xtra, says dealer manager Fran Hume.

The offer on the $945 Bitsurfr runs for six weeks.
