Longtime Teco New Zealand director Brian Grounsell has moved to peripheral and printer reseller MEC. Both parties are finding positives in the move.
“It’s a change of career for me,” says Grounsell. “I’d been at Teco for almost eight years and was looking forward to a change. I was invited back to MEC as general manager by managing director Ashton Wyllie.
Teco manager Mark Allright says the move will allow the company to “stick to its knitting”.
“We started to get into a diversified range of products, like an integrated mobile office, and Brian leaving was an opportunity to look at our core strengths, such as notebooks. It’s no restructural downgrade. We just decided to do what we do well.”
Allright says he is “99% sure” the new general manager will be Jonathan Shu, international sales manager for Chicone, Teco’s computer supplier in Taiwan.
