Spry founder David Pool has created a new company offering presentation and content management software and services for Internet and intranet users.

Pool, who created Spry's Internet in a Box software suite, will serve as president of DataChannel, which is slated to ship its first software tool by the end of the year, DataChannel officials say.

DataChannel will focus on delivering customised software that will allow companies to tailor information delivered to employees based on departmental, group or individual requirements, officials say. The software will include templates and automated log-on procedures for Internet access.

The client software will be free to individual users and is designed to be compatible with browsers from both Microsoft and Netscape.

DataChannel can be reached on the Web at http://www.datachannel.com.
