Cisco posts 80% revenue growth for Q1

Networking vendor Cisco Systems has reported revenues of US$1.43 billion for its first fiscal quarter, ended October 26, an increase of 80% over the same period last year.

Networking vendor Cisco Systems has reported revenues of US$1.43 billion for its first fiscal quarter, ended October 26, an increase of 80% over the US$798 million it posted for the same period last year.

Net income for the quarter, factoring in a one-time charge of US$174.6 million related to the acquisition of Telebit, was down slightly to US$180.9 million compared with US$181.4 million for the year-earlier period.
