Japanese home PC owners are the most likely of any nationality to have their computers connected to the Internet.
According to new IDC/LINK survey, 18% of Japanese home PC owners access the Internet. The U.S. is a close second, at 16%.
The results are quite different, however, when it comes to using the Internet to purchase goods and services, with 34% of Western European households accessing the Internet saying they have made such purchases. In Japan as well as in the rest of Asia that figure is only 17 %, and in the US 22%. Although the survey was not conducted in New Zealand, IDC/LINK found a strong upward trend globally.
