Changes have begun to ring under Xtra's new management, with IT manager Tony Reeves departing to be replaced by Shane Ohlin.
Ohlin will report to Telecom Internet Services general manager Bob Smith. He joined Telecom two years ago and worked in the Infrastructure Group and then the Architecture, Planning and Design group - in both instances reporting to Smith in his former role as Telecom's general manager of Information Services.
Meanwhile, Smith's predecessor, Chris Tyler, has hired one of his former direct reports, Xtra electronic commerce manager Mark Yeoman, to work for Solution 6, the Sydney-based owner of the large but loss-making ISP Access One. Xtra sales and marketing manager Bryan Rowe has also left, to purse "personal options".
Smith says Xtra has "an innovative programme of work planned and [Ohlin] is an ideal choice as the manager to take out applications, products and services to market as quickly as possible and in the most robust fashion."
Tony Booth, a senior consultant at Azimuth, has been Xtra's interim IT manager and will be assisting Ohlin during his first few weeks.
