PC Direct to sell via virtual store

PC Direct is aiming to have a virtual store set up over the Internet by early next year. At present people can place orders on the site(www.pcdirect.co.nz), but they are not automatically entered into PC Direct's accounting system. The new system will be integrated into PC Direct's system. "The customer will be effectively entering the order into our order-entry system," says PC Direct marketing manager Richard Moss. PC Direct is aiming to have a virtual store set up over the Internet by early next year.

At present people can place orders on the site(www.pcdirect.co.nz), but they are not automatically entered into PC Direct’s accounting system.

The new system will be integrated into PC Direct’s system. “The customer will be effectively entering the order into our -order--entry system,” says PC Direct marketing manager Richard Moss.

Moss says PC Direct had been receiving an increasing number of inquiries from customers about buying PC Direct products over the Internet.

He says some retail customers still prefer to touch and feel the PC and that was the reason behind PC Direct opening a Christ-church store this year. “But in the corporate market, I see it [buying over the Internet] becoming more popular, especially if you can integrate your order entry with their order entry.”
