Netscape claims 67% browser market share

Netscape has staked claim to a 67% share of the browser market and says more than 25 million more people have put Netscape Communicator on their systems since it shipped in June. Netscape got its market share figure from an average compiled from site traffic from major search companies including Excite, Infoseek, LookSmart and Yahoo!

Meanwhile, enterprise customers have licensed more than four million seats of Netscape SuiteSpot server software in the last year, in addition to more than 2.4 million Internet Service Provider messaging seats, Netscape says in a new statement.
