Xtra goes a-roaming - globally

Global roaming allows customers to receive and send email and access Xtra from where ever they are in the world and to have that usage billed to their Telecom account. The service uses iPASS Dial Wizard software, which is available for down loading from Xtra’s site at Xtra Info. Pricing depends on the location which the customer dials in from.

The launch of single number access for ISDN customers follows last months launch of NZPlan for residential customers, which offers single number accession nation-wide for $2.50 (GST included). Now ISDN customers who dial the new single access number of 087 30 30 31 will pay a single hourly rate of $7.50 per hour (GST excluded) for their Internet access. 0800 customers now pay an hourly rate of $7.50 per hour (GST excluded) rather than the $14.95 per hour (GST excluded) that they previously paid for 0800 access. This new number does not incur toll charges but business call charges do apply.

In the last three months, Xtra has launched Advance20 for frequent users, NZPlan to benefit rural and remote customers and for more convenient access for metro customers, and a self-service site where users can download plugins and software.

Ian Scherger, marketing manager for Telecom Internet Services, says Xtra expects to have 10,000 registered customers by the end of the month.
