Ellison shattered by role in yacht race

Oracle CEO Larry Ellison was in tears after surviving what he said were the worst sea conditions he had ever experienced in a Sydney-to-Hobart yacht race that has left at least five dead. Ellison's boat, Sayonara, won the race, but Ellison, who also raced last year, was not keen for another try. When asked if he would return for next year's race, he said 'my first reaction is not if I live to a thousand years. But who knows?'

When asked if he would return for next year's race, he said "my first reaction is not if I live to a thousand years. But who knows?"

"It was just awful, I've never experienced anything remotely like this," said Ellison, reportedly. "It's been a very emotional experience to get here. This is not what this is supposed to be about. A lot of us are upset."

Ellison's crew learned of the deaths of their competitors via radio before arriving.
