The New Zealand Herald has teamed up with newspaper groups in Australia and South Africa to provide what promises to be the most comprehensive online coverage of Super 12 rugby yet.

The Herald, the Sydney Morning Herald and the Independent Group in South Africa will all contribute previews, match reports and commentary to Rugby Heaven (http://www.rugbyheaven.com). The site consisted only of a placeholder this morning.

The New Zealand Herald has made no announcement about the project yet, but a story in the Sydney Morning Herald says local sports reporters Wynne Gray and Chris Rattue and regular New Zealand Herald columnist Chris Laidlaw will contribute to the site. The SMH says the site will feature "interactive tipping", player commentary, pictures and the chance for readers to pick the player of the series and the Super 12 dream team.

The expert commentators will also lead online discussions and users will have a chance to vote on how they feel about the issues and controversy surrounding games and the Super 12 series.

SMH reporters Greg Growden, Spiro Zavos and Peter FitzSimons will feature, as will Gavin Rich, Liam del Carme and Mike Greenaway from the Independent Group.
