Monday March 15 looks like launch day for the New Zealand Herald's NetClassifieds online ad service.
The service, which will bring the Herald's entire classified section online, has been developed by a small in-house team led by former Xtra manager Chantal Dunbar, along with Clearview Communications and Whitewater Technologies.
The debut will also see additional editorial content, including Web-only material appear on the Herald site.
Integration into some classified sections of maps from fellow Wilson and Horton subsidiary UBD is the first sign of plans outlined last year to draw all of W&H's assets, including the Radio Network, into a broad online strategy.
Extra features and functionality, including e-commerce, are likely to be added incrementally, with an upgrade to the site about every six weeks, according to a source familiar with the Herald's plans.
