The New Zealand Herald's NetClassifieds service has launched this morning, bringing the paper's profitable classified sections to the Internet.
The site carries full motoring, employment, real estate for sale and personal and public notices. Listings go live at 6am, the same time the paper hits the street in Auckland, and stay on the site for seven days.
Various interactive features have been built in, including E-Alert, which allows users to lodge search criteria and be automatically notified when a match for the search becomes available online, and the ability to respond directly to ads or send them onto friends.
The classifieds site offers integrated navigation not only with the Herald's editorial site, but with resources from fellow Wilson and Horton assets, business directory company UDB and map publisher Wises - the first flush of what will be an ongoing drive to integrate the W&H group's assets online.
