Nintendo's UK subsidiary has committed the privacy gaffe everybody feared would happen sooner or later. Through a misconfiguration of its Web site, Nintendo UK has revealed not only customer IP, email and postal addresses, but also their names, telephone numbers, and most worryingly of all, their credit card numbers including expiry dates.
The credit card holders who have had their numbers revealed are from all over the world, including UK, continental Europe, the USA and Australia.
The news of the credit card numbers have spread like wildfire in Internet newsgroups since Saturday, New Zealand time. Nintendo UK and its British ISP, TotalWeb UK, have both been uncontactable over the weekend, so the credit card numbers will remain visible until Monday morning, UK time.
