Ihug will unveil the pricing for its new digital TV service when the Ihug Digital TV Website goes live tomorrow morning.

The company will then begin taking pre-registrations for the service, which will launch in the first week of May offering nine "basic" channels including BBC World, CNN, Discovery, National Geographic, Cartoon Network and the Warkworth-based Family Channel. There will also be an additional 12 channels of pay-per-view TV, which is likely to be confined to movies.

The service will initially be available only to Auckland residents with a view of the Sky Tower, but the company's new newsletter says it is "exploring other broadcasting locations for the rest of the country".

The company is pushing its SuperSystem PC as the ideal device to access digital TV and Internet services, but is also promising "a range of set top boxes".

The newsletter promises that "the equipment and service will be very reasonably priced".
