IDG, CNN expand alliance

Building upon a year-old content exchange relationship, IDG and CNN News Group have announced a three-year, $50 million strategic and marketing alliance that encompasses information technology news for television and the Internet. Under terms of the deal, IDG, Computerworld's parent company, will provide content for a 30-minute weekly consumer technology TV programme.

Building upon a year-old content exchange relationship, International Data Group (IDG) and CNN News Group have announced a three-year, $50 million strategic and marketing alliance that encompasses information technology news for television and the Internet.

Under terms of the deal, IDG, Computerworld's parent company, said it will provide content for a 30-minute weekly consumer technology television programme that will air on CNN this fall.

IDG will also become one of the top advertisers on CNN's news properties, launching an extensive marketing campaign to promote a new online company in which CNN will hold a minority equity stake.
