The e-commerce team of Auckland law firm Hesketh Henry is to conduct an Internet share trading survey.
The survey will be sent to all share brokers in New Zealand and will also seek brokers' opinions on the future of Internet trading. The results, which should be available by August, will be made public at the Hesketh Henry Web site (www.hhlaw.co.nz).
Frank Chan, a senior solicitor with the firm, believes the survey will contribute to the growth and development of the share market. "With Internet share trading growing rapidly overseas we want a snapshot of where the New Zealand industry is right now."
Chan says the results will come at about the same time as the stock exchange's introduction of a new trading system, which he feels will help accelerate the growth of Internet trading in New Zealand.
