Delegates and media at Apec are the first to use new Telecom payphones offering modem access. After Apec, 500 modem access phones will be installed as part of a rollout of 6500 new Telecom payphones.

Delegates and media at Apec are the first to use new Telecom payphones offering modem access.

The new indoor phones have been installed at Apec venues in Auckland for this week's meetings. From next week, modem access payphones will start to be installed throughout the country. Most of the locations will be in airport lounges such as Ansett Golden Wing and Air New Zealand Koru lounges.

The 500 modem access payphones are part of a rollout of 6500 new Telecom payphones around the country, due to be completed within the next six weeks.
