In a move to jump-start its growth, Electronic Data Systems is to reorganise into four businesses: E.solutions, Business Process Management, A. T. Kearney and Information Solutions.
The changes were designed to simplify the Texas-based EDS's presence in the information technology services market and with clients, the company said.
The businesses, which will begin operations Oct. 1, are as follows:
--E.solutions. Headed by John McCain, president, the business will offer information on electronic business, including electronic communities, Internet products and applications and enterprise applications.
--Business Process Management. Originally part of E.solutions, this line will oversee enterprise customer management, claims processing and settlement processing. Kim McMann, former president of EDS' state business and state health care unit, will become president.
--Consulting firm A. T. Kearney. This unit will continue to be led by Fred Steingraber. The firm offers strategic, operational, organisational and IT consulting, as well as executive search services.
--Information Solutions. This division will offer information on managing centralized and distributed systems, communications and application development. It will be headed by Douglas Frederick.
