EftPos software developed in New Zealand has been licensed by international distributor Ingenico for worldwide distribution.
Auckland-based DPS (Direct Payment Solutions) has developed two major products to date, says director Andy Cullen: Direct Payment Server and PC Eftpos. Both are now being sold in Australia by Ingenico and Cullen expects to see them taken further afield.
New Zealand has been used as a test market for Eftpos solutions, he says.
"It's the most vibrant Eftpos market worldwide — all the brands are here and we have the highest penetration per head of population."
There is a strong move to Window-based point-of-sale systems, "and Ingenico realised that through us they could get a solution off the shelf".
DPS products have been purchased in New Zealand by Clear Communications (an online credit card verification product, called Payment Gateway), Freedom Air, ETM (Electronic Ticket Management), Whit-coulls, New Zealand Post and the AA.
