Dear What Am I Worth,
I live in Romania, but am moving to New Zealand soon. I am 31 and have a degree in maths and computer programming and recently finished financial management courses at the British Open University.
I was never a programmer as I always felt attraction towards the business side. For the past one-and-a-half years I’ve been marketing and development manager at a Dutch/Romanian joint venture software firm. In this period of time I had a variety of tasks and responsibilities: project analysis, account management, web marketing and marketing software products.

Protocol Personnel replies: With the limited information you have provided it is difficult to ascertain your market worth. Someone with your skills with local experience might be able to earn $65,000 to $70,000. You may find it frustrating, however, as a lot of New Zealand companies want local experience. A lot of people who are relocating to New Zealand start at a somewhat lower salary and work their way into a desired position over time.
