IT manager/e-commerce development manager

Dear What Am I Worth,

I have an MCSE, CNE, Cisco ICRC and ACRC. I have 14 years' experience working with systems ranging from AS/400s and 3270s to PCs.

My current position is that of an IT manager/e-commerce development manager. I manage a LAN that consists of 500-odd workstations and 25 to 30 servers (mainly NT based - with a little Novell for good measure) The LANs are connected by frame relay (18 sites) and administer MS Exchange 5.5 and SQL 7.0 which all sites run. All workstations are controlled by active scripting (VBS) that dynamically builds desktop environments on the fly.

The IT system was totally designed and installed by myself including setting up the frame network. I manage the system with assistance from an engineer.

I am in the process of designing an e-commerce strategy for the company that includes the rollout of some large websites that are COM-based into SQL, and will assume the role of project manager (I don't have the time to do it myself). I have vast experience with the internet as I have in a past position run a small ISP for three to four years.

IT Futures replies: With your e-commerce skills and IT management ability the career options are varied - depending on the challenges you are looking for and the location required you could happily negotiate between $80,000 to $100,000. The key would be working out what type of role would be the most attractive.
