VeriSign to open Australia's first PKI security center

Australia's first security training centre dedicated to Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and digital certificate solutions is to be opened in Melbourne by VeriSign.

Australia's first security training centre dedicated to Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and digital certificate solutions will be opened in Melbourne by VeriSign on Wednesday Feb. 21.

Aimed at educating Australian IT professionals in the rapidly growing Internet security market, the authorised training center will be officially opened by Senator Ian Campbell, parliamentary secretary to the Minister for Communications and Information Technology.

It is the first VeriSign training centre outside the United States and has been established within eSign Australia's e-commerce data center and regional operations center in South Melbourne.

The center closely resembles a high-security military installation and is one of the most secure private sector data centers in the Southern Hemisphere.
