North Carolina-based Market America has begun recruiting online for distributors and agents and is running meetings in Auckland and across Australia this month.

The nine-year-old multi-level marketer is headed by former Amway high-flier James Ridinger.

“We have a strong commitment to the internet, but our basic business is one-to-one marketing,” says Market America spokesman Ronald Edwards.

The firm recently implemented a $US3.5 million online system at www.mawebcenters.com that enables businesses to build websites featuring a shopping cart and merchant account using 295 basic templates. Edwards says the $US500 service produces websites that can cost $US10,000 elsewhere.

In the US and Canada, the company claims 100,000 distributors and constant growth and no debt. The company’s marketamerica.com website lists over 500 products.
