The local arm of an international online media buyers community has launched a trading marketplace for selling advertising space.

XS-Media New Zealand’s B2B platform will allow sellers to show their products for 24 hours and allow both set-price and auctioned sales – but buyers pay the sellers direct rather than through the marketplace.

XS Media says Prime Television, TV4, IT Media, DMG World Media and EM Media have signed up for the service, “representing a potential $50 million worth of inventory”. Other features of the site, which launched locally in November, include industry research and news, a media directory,and a job section.

XS Media New Zealand's general manager Scott MacDonnell says the local arm's registered users represent over 70% of the country’s media buyers – with a reported buying power in excess of $400 million.

XS Media is headquartered in Singapore – where its shareholders work in the advertising industry - and has offices in Hong Kong, Malaysia and Australia.
