Ariba set to be e-procurement apps leader

Research company IDC's eProcurement Forecast 2000-2004 predicts Ariba will show up as the leader in the e-procurement applications market for the 2000 year, outpacing Commerce One, Oracle and SAP.

Research company IDC’s eProcurement Forecast 2000-2004 predicts Ariba will show up as the leader in the e-procurement applications market for the 2000 year, outpacing Commerce One, Oracle and SAP.

Oracle was the 1999 leader. In 2000, Ariba had licence revenues of $US375.1 million, or 18.3% of the market, Commerce One $US256.8 million or 12.5%, Oracle $US150 million or 7.3% and SAP $US65 million or 3.2%.

SAP was in fifth place, beaten by i2 and BroadVision. IBM was in sixth place. The total e-procurement market in 2000 was projected at $US2.05 billion.
