Rideline, an telephone information service for Auckland commuters, has launched a website. The new internet service will cover bus, train and ferry services for the Auckland region.

The site offers a journey planner that allows people to enter their address, nearby landmark or intersection details along with their destination and the site will provide the best five travel options.

Rideline currently fields a million calls on public transport routes and timetables a year. Transfund has committed $166,000 over the next three years to fund the website in addition to the $1 million contributed by the Auckland Regional Council.
